Dear Students and Families,
We have one full week left until Fall Break! Our students have worked hard throughout this quarter, and I know they will finish strong next week. As we head into the final week, please take a few minutes to read through this week’s newsletter so you don’t miss any important information.
Inside, you’ll find information about our End-of-Quarter Party, Boo Bash, Veterans Day Program, Thanksgiving assistance, and more.
One skill we continue to encourage our students to practice is Accepting No. This doesn’t mean students can’t ask questions, share their feelings, or respectfully disagree. It means learning how to handle disappointment and respond appropriately when the answer is no. Families can practice this at home through everyday situations, such as accepting that they can’t have extra screen time, understanding that they can’t have something they want at the store, or accepting that they can’t make plans with friends on a certain day. These moments give students the opportunity to practice managing their emotions, respecting boundaries, and moving forward even when they don’t get the answer they were hoping for.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and MVIS. We are looking forward to a great final week before Fall Break!
Sincerely,
Ms. Ashley Gustin
Principal

Friendships can be one of the best parts of childhood — and one of the most painful. If you’ve watched your child navigate friend drama, social exclusion, or the pressures of group chats, you know how hard it can be to know when to step in and what to say.
