Book Fair Volunteers Needed

Our Book Fair is coming up, and we are looking for parent volunteers to help! If you would like to volunteer during your student’s scheduled Book Fair time, you can use the sign-up link below to choose a time that works for you. The attached schedule shows when each teacher’s class will be attending the Book Fair so you can sign up to be there with your student.

🧥 Coat Drive

We want to make sure our MVIS students have a warm coat for the upcoming winter months. If your child is in need of a coat, please complete the coat request form by Friday, September 18th. - Coat Request Form

Help Support Our School: SchoolStore Fundraiser

Today, we started a SchoolStore program to help our school raise money. Scan the QR code on the Book Buddy Lanyard that was sent home with your student to find out how the program works.

Parents, please read over the information describing how you can participate. Your student will earn a participation prize when they return the filled-out Student Lanyard to school, and they can earn more great prizes when your family and friends help our school raise money. So don't forget to send the filled out Book Buddy Lanyard back to school, and thanks for your support.

Course Consumable Fees

All consumable class fees have been added to our students' accounts. You may pay by cash, check,

or credit card via E-Funds. All consumable fees are due by 09/11/2026.

Tutoring Opportunities

MVIS has multiple tutoring opportunities for students! Sign up for FREE peer tutoring. Session 1 begins September 16th and is study skills lessons. Sessions 2-4 are regular tutoring sessions with our Peer Tutors from National Junior Honor Society and National Honor Society. Sign up here!

Looking for individual tutoring options? We have available tutors for all subjects, including organization/study skills. Contact Michelle Shepherd michelle.shepherd@mtvernonschools.org for tutor lists and tutoring questions.

Dismissal Reminder

For the safety of our students, we would like to remind families that we do not allow walk-up dismissal at the end of the school day. If you need to pick your student up early, the latest time to pick them up is 3:00 PM. After that time, students will need to be picked up through our car rider line.

We appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us maintain a safe and orderly dismissal process for all students.

Attendance Procedures & Reminders

If your student will be absent, please notify the school by 9:40 AM using one of the following methods:

Call the Attendance Line: 317-482-4110 option 1 (voicemail available 24/7)

Important Notes:

Absence documentation must be submitted within 3 days of the absence.
If the student is sick for 3 or more days, a doctor’s note is required for the absence to be excused.
For any doctor, dental, or other appointments, a provider’s excuse note is needed for the time missed to be excused.
