Week 24

Welcome to Mt. Vernon Intermediate

Dear Students and Families,

Our 5th grade students are excited to attend JA BizTown next week and the following week! This hands-on experience allows students to step into real-world roles as citizens, workers, and consumers, helping them connect classroom learning to the free enterprise system. Throughout the simulation, students will explore citizen rights and responsibilities, build money management skills through banking and budgeting, develop an understanding of basic business practices, and practice the soft skills necessary for success in the workplace. We are confident they will represent MVIS well and continue to uphold our building’s behavioral expectations while off campus.

Please remember there will be no school on Monday for Presidents’ Day and no school on Tuesday for Teacher Professional Development. We hope families enjoy the long weekend!

Be sure to follow us on social media to see highlights from BizTown and other exciting events happening at MVIS. We love sharing the great things our students are accomplishing!

Sincerely,
Ms. Ashley Gustin
Principal
