Dear Students and Families,

Welcome back, MVIS families! We hope everyone had a restful and fun fall break and is ready to jump into an exciting second quarter.

As we return, our administrators hosted Marauder Mindset meetings with all students to revisit and strengthen our building expectations for a safe, respectful, and successful school year. We’re also continuing to recognize our Students of the Week, who are great examples of what it means to live the Marauder CHARGE values—Choose Safety, Honor Integrity, Actively Focus, Redo/Respect, Give Effort, and Effort.

Looking ahead, Red Ribbon Week kicks off next week with fun dress-up days and meaningful reminders about making healthy, positive choices. We have our Boo Bash on Thursday after school. Students are encouraged to show their Fall spirit with school appropriate attire.

We’re excited to keep the momentum going and make this next stretch of the year our best yet!

Outlook Christian Church has volunteered to provide Thanksgiving baskets to families that might need some extra help for Thanksgiving dinner. If you are in need, please fill out this form by Wednesday, October 29th. Baskets will be dropped off at the intermediate school on Monday, November 24th (the Monday before Thanksgiving).

 If you have students at multiple schools in the Mt. Vernon School District, please fill out the form that is correlated with your youngest child's school. If you have any questions, please reach out to michelle.shepherd@mvcsc.k12.in.us. 

Below is the information about winter sports for sixth grade students.

Attached to the newsletter are two documents. One document provides instructions on how to access student's scores on ILearn Checkpoints. The second document provides information on understanding student's English/Language Arts and Mathematics scores.

Families in need of holiday assistance are invited to apply by completing this form. Please note that applications are due no later than the end of the school day on Monday, November 3rd. Applications received after this date cannot be processed.

MVIS will be offering 4 sessions of Peer Tutoring and Study Skills. These sessions will take place in the MVIS library on Thursdays at 7:30 AM.
